FOLDING KNIFE CARE
Caring for your folding knife properly can ensure it to last from generation to generation. Our folding knives are made to provide years of reliable service. Like most equipment, knives need a little care. Here are a few tips to help you get lasting service from your knife.

Oil any moving parts or joints to a knife periodically to ensure longevity. Avoid letting any blade get wet as this will cause corrosion.
Wood handles can be cared for with oil or furniture polish.
If your blade is composed of carbon spring steel, then use a baking soda and water solution to clean it. If you have a stainless steel blade, use dish soap or water. Stainless steel is much more susceptible to fingerprints than carbon and should therefore be cared for on a regular basis. Try not to touch the blade with your fingers too much. If you do, then clean the folding knife after use. Fingerprints are very acidic and can leave permanent stains if left unclean over time.
When choosing an oil, WD-40 is a good choice but not the best choice. If you are lubricating a lockblade's internal parts then use 3-in-one. Another good product for folding knives is Remingtons Dri-Lube. It applies as a very thin coat, but lasts longer than WD-40.
Never apply more than a few drops of oil to any folding knife. If you are working with a folding knife, apply oil and work the folding mechanism at least fifteen times to work the oil into the joints.
Discoloration on stainless steel does not occur easily. Discoloration should be regarded as rust waiting to happen and should be cleaned immediately. Rust has a reddish-brown color and will eat pits into your blade and contaminate what you cut. Cleaning, polishing and lubricating helps the performance, safety and longevity of your folding knife.
In summary, taking care of your folding knife will ensure that your knife lasts from generation to generation.
Follow these simple cleaning and lubricating techniques and your small investment will be protected.
